About RailTech

With the establishment of the Centre for Railway Technology at DTU, the railway industry gets a single point of contact to the university's expertise in railway technology. The centre seeks to coordinate DTU's education and counseling and thereby contributing to the interdisciplinarity in the business.

The RailTech centre is a cooperation between DTU and the Danish Rail Sector Association, Banebranchen.

One important aim is to increase the interest for the railway business among the students, and the centre works as a platform for the communication of the railway industry's student projects, data, case studies, student jobs, internships, etc. The centre also operates as a contact forum where any research-based advisory and project cooperation within transport authorities and organisations is to be discussed. And thereafter channeled to the relevant DTU departments. The diversity in the railway business generates a need for interdisciplinary solutions, which are to be coordinated in the centre.

The participating departments at DTU are: DTU Management, DTU Engineering Technology, DTU Sustain, DTU Compute, DTU Electro Photonics, DTU Construct & DTU Mechanical Engineering.
